IPMAT is conducted every year for admission to the IIM Indore’s five years integrated program in management. Indian Institute of Management Indore is one of the biggest institutes in India, and it aims to help the management candidates to build leadership quality by providing a degree of UG and PG through the IPM program. IPM is a five-year program that has 3-year of UG course and 2-year PG course.

Let’s see the pattern of the IPMAT exam first.

·         IPMAT is an online-based exam, and the duration is 120 minutes.

·         Candidates will get 100 objective-type questions with four marks each.

·         There are three sections like quantitative aptitude (60 questions) and verbal Ability( 40 questions).

IPMAT quantitative aptitude section

In this section, candidates will get both MCQ and descriptive-based questions.  Candidates need to solve 60 questions and four marks each. The important topics for the exam are Work Related Problems, Pipes & Cisterns, Geometry: Lines, Angles & Triangles, Polygons, Circles & Mensuration, Numbers, Averages & Percentages, Roots, Indices, Surds, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Time, Speed & Distance Permutations & Combinations Algebraic Formulae, Linear & Quadratic Equations, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, Mixtures &Alligations, Probability, Determinants, Vectors, Integration, and Differentiation.

IPMAT verbal ability section

This section has 40 questions, and each with four marks. Candidates will get topics such as Prepositions and Conjunctions, Tenses, Modifiers & Parallelism, Reading Comprehension, Etymology & Roots, Idioms & Phrases, Analogies, Antonyms-Synonyms, Foreign Words Noun & Pronoun Errors, Subject-Verb Agreement, Inference based passages Syllogisms, Logical Consistency, Deductive Reasoning.

IPMAT preparation tips

Candidates can apply for the IPMAT exam after completing the 12th exam. To crack this exam, candidates need to follow some steps that will help them to perform better.

Prepare a timetable

After the board exam, prepare a study timetable. This will help you to give a particular amount of time to your preparation. You can keep track of your time and other things you need to complete in a day. Come up with a plan to give an equal amount of time to all your subjects.

Get right materials

It is always important to have the right study materials to crack any exam. You can study quantitative ability from NCERT of 6th-10th and remember to revise every topic before the exam. For verbal ability, you can read newspapers daily and a good grammar book to improve your vocabulary skills and grammatical skills.
