Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released on PC on July 26th, and Sony has revealed the extra features that will be included in the port. Insomniac Games has teamed up with Nixxes Software to bring the previously PS5-exclusive platformer to PC, promising ray-traced reflections and shadows as well as support for ultrawide monitors with 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. Triple monitor setups have also been considered, with the developer supporting resolutions up to 48:9. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is now available to pre-order for Rs. 3,999 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, like previous PlayStation-PC adaptations, features a host of improvements and configurable button mapping while playing on keyboard and mouse. Of course, controllers are supported, with the PS5’s DualSense creating appropriate vibrations via haptic feedback and adjustable triggers, allowing you to feel the in-game actions come to life in your hands. Keep in mind that this feature is only available if you play on a PC with a wired connection. In addition to fully unlocked framerates, the port includes performance-enhancing upscaling methods that will help achieve reasonable framerates while sacrificing nothing in terms of visual fidelity.

Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Insomniac Games’ in-house Temporal Injection are all available. “NVIDIA Reflex and image quality enhancing NVIDIA DLAA are also supported,” according to the PlayStation blog. Furthermore, the ray-traced reflections setting will include a number of quality levels to choose from. To be able to tamper with these settings, you would need the proper hardware. Standard graphics quality presets are also offered.

Insomniac Games has yet to announce the system requirements for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC, which may be cause for concern given recent PC game releases with poor optimizations. Even one of PlayStation’s most iconic titles, The Last of Us Part I, was released in a shambles, riddled with crashes, unstable framerates, and poor VRAM management. However, in the case of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the porters are Nixxes Software – the same people that released near-perfect PC versions of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. So I have some faith in them.

Rift Apart is an interdimensional platformer in which you conjure portals to jump between planets and shoot down alien pirates in order to stop the wicked Emperor Nefarious. According to Insomniac Games, this single entry is a ‘great’ way for beginners to enter this realm, and it also features a brand-new female playable character named Rivet, who is accompanied by her robotic buddy Kit. When you pre-order Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC, you’ll get early access to the Pixelizer Weapon and Carbonox Armor set. There is just one edition available for purchase.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be available on PC on July 26 via Steam and the Epic Games Store for Rs. 3,999.
