Soon, Tesla owners might be able to play games that aren’t just for fun. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has said that the company is “Getting Steam to work is going well.

“There will likely be a demo “next month, “On Saturday, Musk sent a tweet.

Tesla cars have been used for games for a long time. The company’s cars have a good selection of free-to-play games, like Solitaire and Chess, as well as arcade classics like Missile Command and Super Breakout and more complex games like Beach Buggy Racing 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Battle of Polytopia.

The addition of Steam could take this to the next level, since Steam is a huge platform with more than 50,000 games, from small indie games to big hits like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Depending on the model, Tesla cars can be pretty good gaming machines. For example, the infotainment system in the new Model S and Model X runs on an AMD Ryzen CPU and an AMD RDNA-2 GPU. This means that these cars should be able to run games with a lot of graphics, like Cyberpunk 2077.

Don’t try to drive and play Steam games, though. After the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) started looking into whether Tesla gaming is a distraction for drivers, Tesla turned off this feature in December 2021.
