Apple Watch Series 8 could Detect if You Suffer from Fever

A report says that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 will have a body temperature sensor that could let the user know when they have a fever. This would be a step forward in the design of smart watches, making them more health-focused by letting them track more parts of the body.

The report comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gruman, so it isn’t very reliable even though Apple hasn’t said anything. The expert analyst says that he hopes the next watch from the brand will be able to tell when a person’s body temperature goes up. If it does, he will tell the person to go to the doctor or use a thermometer to find out for sure if they have a fever. This would mean that the watch couldn’t give you an exact measurement, but it could tell you when there was a change that you might want to be aware of. It seems like a pretty useful tool, especially during the time of Covid.

Gruman’s report says that the body temperature sensor is still being tested, but if it passes, this technology would be built into the next Apple Watch Series 8 watch and other smartwatches, except for the Apple Watch SE. Even if it doesn’t make it to the next few watches, it will make it once it’s approved.

Gruman’s report gives it more weight, since there have been rumors for a long time that this kind of technology would be coming to Apple watches, including one from Ming-Chi Kuo, another expert who is usually the first to say something.

The interesting thing is that this kind of technology could not only help us tell when someone has a fever so they can go to the doctor, but it could also be used for other things, like fertility monitoring, since changes in body temperature can help tell if someone is more likely to get pregnant or to track their menstrual cycle. In the same way, it could be a key part of exercise routines, letting you know if you are getting too hot.

Some people have already said that the Apple Watch Series 8 will change the way Apple watches are used by giving them better options and a more attractive screen, leaving what we already knew behind.

As for the price, all we can do is guess. Since the Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $400, it’s likely that the new models will also be in this price range.
