Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange Review and Full Specifications

Design

Despite the low pricing, Oppo did not hesitate to make this phone’s design stand out. Remember that the Oppo Reno 7 Sunset Orange  is a mid-range phone, although it does not appear to be in terms of appearance. The Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange is known as an Ultra-Slim Retro design, with a slim body measuring 159.9mm in length and 73.2mm in width. With a weight of about 175g, this phone is exceptionally light.

The camera module, which includes a triple camera arrangement and an LED flash, is located on the back panel. There are two big lenses among the three cameras, while the secondary camera is ringed by an RGB ring light that is used to alert incoming calls and notifications; this is where Oppo excelled in the design of this phone.

The power and volume keys of the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange have been split for ease of use. The power button is on the right side, while the volume button, SIM card and SD card slot are on the left. The Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange bottom features a USB Type-C charging connector in the center, a speaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right and left, respectively.

The Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange received IPX4 certification, which means it can only withstand splashes. Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange comes in Cosmic Black and Sunset Orange color options.

Display

The Oppo Reno 7 Sunset Orange has a large screen with a 6.4-inch punch-hole display. Oppo used an AMOLED panel for the display on this phone, which has been the top display technology for years. As a result, the Oppo Reno 7 Sunset Orange has an FHD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20.9 aspect ratio, and a density of 409ppi. The display boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, resulting in a smooth and rapid scrolling experience.

The display of the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange produces brilliant and rich colors, ensuring a fantastic multimedia experience. The screen is also bright enough to use in direct sunlight, with a maximum brightness of 800nits. Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange is scratch-resistant thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Camera

The camera on the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange sports a triple arrangement, as we previously stated. Starting with the main camera, which boasts a 64MP sensor and an aperture of f/1.7. The primary camera is supplemented by a 2MP macro lens with an f/3.3 aperture. This macro lens, as Oppo said, can achieve magnifications of 15x and 30x. Finally, there’s a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shooting.

We’re impressed with the main camera’s photo capabilities, especially on a sunny day, as it employs pixel-binned 4-to-1 technology to produce 16MP shots. The camera struggles to take brilliant photographs in low-light circumstances, especially at night. The dedicated flashlight may have helped, but the photographs aren’t as clear and detailed as they were earlier in the day.

Unfortunately, you can’t take photos with a wide field of view because Oppo replaced the ultra-wide shooter with a macro lens. With its 15x magnification, the 2MP macro lens can capture super-sharp photographs of microscopic objects such as plants or tissues, and it can even employ up to 30x magnification. The selfie camera sports a 32MP sensor and takes excellent selfies.

Performance, Storage, and Software

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset in the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange  is a Quad-core processor made utilizing 6nm processor technology. This processor is ubiquitous in most gaming phones, and Oppo’s marketing effort for this model is centered on gaming services. In terms of performance, the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange readily handles any task that is thrown at it without overheating.

Even when playing games, the performance is smooth and easygoing. PUGB mobile works flawlessly with this phone, with no slowdowns or delays.

The Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Oppo has done a good job of offering enough storage, which can be expanded using the dedicated microSD card slot.
The Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange runs the Android 12 operating system with the ColorOS 12 UI. Oppo is noted for having a well-organized settings menu and features that can be customized. Furthermore, the Reno 7’s inclusion of the most recent Android version implies a plethora of intriguing features as well as future improvements.

Battery

The Oppo Reno 7 Sunset Orange is powered by a 4500mAh Li-Po battery that supports SuperVOOC charging. The dedicated 33W fast charging support speeds up charging time from empty to full battery to about 1 hour.

Final verdict

What must a mid-range have in order to be a reliable buying signal? The price is, in my opinion, the key feature! In this case, Oppo succeeds in providing a quality service at a reasonable price. The rear camera module, which also contributed to the device’s lack of a 5G antenna, is the Oppo Reno7 Sunset Orange weakest point overall.
